"When I grow up I want to be a A Doctor"

Mary is 8 years old and the youngest in a family of three girls. Mary came to the One Heart home in 2010 when she was just 4 years old. At first she and her sisters were all very shy. She didn’t want to play with other children at the home and would cling to her elder sister and never leave her side. When her sister would go to school without her she would cry for hours on end.

When she first started school, she never seemed to understand anything and would often just cry in class. The teachers didn’t know what to do with her so they would just give her crayons and let her draw in class. Eventually Mary started to pay attention in class and dramatically improved in her writing and reading skills, which led to her going to the top of her class. Her performance was so impressive that the teachers decided to put her up a class and let her skip a grade. She is now in a class where all the kids are older than her yet her performance is still outstanding. We know that Mary is destined for greatness and can do anything she sets her mind to.
